We’re seeking a Quality Systems Engineer I to enhance our quality systems, promote continuous improvement across our plants, and ensure consistent, high-performance manufacturing processes.**What we can offer you:*** Full-time, on-site role supporting multiple Silgan manufacturing locations* Competitive compensation based on experience and technical skill* Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and wellness programs* Telemedicine and optional add-ons, including pet insurance and chronic condition support* 401(k) with a 6% dollar-for-dollar employer match* 15 paid vacation days + 10 paid holidays annually* Tuition assistance and ongoing professional development* A safe, stable workplace focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement**What you will do:*** Provide technical expertise for product quality, material performance, and process issues* Conduct product and process performance evaluations to identify improvement opportunities* Participate in the development and implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) initiatives* Lead or assist with variability-reduction and process-optimization projects* Perform quality audits, capability studies, and site surveys* Analyze inspection and production data to promote continuous improvement* Develop and deliver training on quality tools, procedures, and standards* Enter, maintain, and verify data in AS-400, JDE, and related internal systems* Develop and route Can Standard Change Requests (CSCRs)* Maintain manufacturing standards, including A-Section procedures, PCPs, Double Seam Guides, and more* Prepare and distribute manufacturing and lithography standards* Maintain quality records, customer complaint documentation, and department files* Train employees on documentation requirements and Silgan standards systems* Apply all safety procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment* Support engineering, operations, and plant teams with quality-related projects* Contribute to cross-functional problem solving and data-driven decision making* Perform additional duties as necessary to ensure quality and manufacturing excellence**What you need to have:*** High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred* 1–3 years of quality, manufacturing, or production experience* Proficiency with AS-400, JDE, and Microsoft Office Suite* Understanding of SPC methods and basic statistics* Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills* Ability to read, interpret, and develop manufacturing standards and procedures* Ability to travel 20–40% to manufacturing facilities* ASQC Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred* Experience in manufacturing standards administration or quality system support preferred* Familiarity with quality audits, capability studies, and continuous improvement methodologies preferred**Who we are**Silgan is America’s largest metal food packaging producer, known for reliability, sustainability, and innovation.
