## Position Summary The Scenic Technical Supervisor is instrumental in the creation and installation of scenic elements for production sets, ensuring top-notch craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. As part of the production department and Studio Team, this role is responsible for building, fabricating, and installing physical elements for both in-studio and offsite production efforts. Collaborate closely with the Sr. Manager of Production, Production Supervisor, Production Designers, Art Directors, and Production Coordinators to create and build visual assets for Livingspaces.com, catalogs, TV commercials, POP displays, social media, and email campaigns.## Position Description**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.* Construct scenic sets for all in-studio and offsite marketing productions* Review scenic needs with production designers based on initial designs* Transform designer inputs into technical CAD schematics for use in scenic construction* Determine resource, material, and time needed and communicate to stakeholders* Communicate with stakeholders and identify/offer adjustments to achieve desired outcomes, budget, and timing* Own and manage scenic design budget and procure resources/materials* Compile and report cost figures to ensure budget is met* Procure and manage third-party vendors assisting with scenic construction and other needs* Supervise scenic needs and personnel during live productions, in-studio and offsite* Manage and maintain “live set” area within the production studio* Own and maintain in-studio scenic shop* Support non-production scenic design needs as they arise## Qualifications**Education/Experience**Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college/university in Theater, Design or related degree.
Minimum 7 years of experience in staging, carpentry, set design or related role.
Proficient skills in construction.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. **Requirements:*** Proven experience as a scenic carpenter with strong leadership skills.* Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, theatrical construction, and scenic design principles.* Proficiency in using a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment.* Excellent project management and organizational skills.* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.* Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet production schedules.* Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a secure working environment.**Computer Skills:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient experience in Auto CAD software or similar programs relating to developing scenic builds; 3D model/room printer experience a plus; Excel and basic Microsoft familiarity. **Driving Ability:**
Ability to drive various trucks (16ft-24ft) and cargo vans. **Certificates and Licenses:** None required but construction and/or set building related courses preferred.
## ## **Position Hiring Range**The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position.
Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
