Project Manager – Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant
to join our Tallahassee team. This role is ideal for a driven, detail-focused leader who thrives on ownership, accountability, and delivering complex treatment plant projects. At Petticoat-Schmitt, Project Managers run their projects like a business — with full financial transparency, responsibility, and support. You’ll oversee water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects from planning through closeout, leading high-performing teams and delivering infrastructure that directly serves communities across Florida. If you value autonomy, accountability, and building projects that matter — this role offers a clear path to long-term impact and growth. What You’ll Do
Lead all phases of water and wastewater treatment plant project delivery, from planning and execution through closeout Maintain full ownership of project scope, schedules, forecasting, and overall performance Prepare, manage, and track project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change management, and billing Coach, motivate, and develop superintendents, foremen, engineers, and field teams Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and teamwork Coordinate closely with field leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations Financial & Risk Management
Manage project financials with full profit-and-loss responsibility Forecast profitability and ensure projects meet or exceed budget expectations Identify risks early, implement corrective actions, and proactively solve issues Client & Partner Engagement
Represent Petticoat-Schmitt with integrity and professionalism Build strong working relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors Protect company interests through clear communication and proactive problem-solving What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
4+ years of project management experience in civil construction, preferably with water or wastewater treatment plants Strong background managing self-performed work, including structural concrete, process piping, and mechanical scopes Proven experience with profit-and-loss accountability and financial forecasting Proficiency with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, HCSS, Procore/Prolog, or similar project management platforms Skills & Attributes
Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills Ability to coach and develop teams while supporting field execution High sense of urgency with exceptional attention to detail Organized, accountable, and confident decision-maker Professional, proactive communicator who protects the company’s interests How You’ll Measure Success
