We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented
Collections Manager
to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the collections department, managing a team of collectors, and ensuring timely and effective recovery of outstanding debts while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the collections team to achieve departmental goals and targets.
Develop and implement effective collection strategies and processes.
Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely follow‑up on overdue payments.
Analyze collection data and prepare reports for senior management.
Resolve escalated customer disputes and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Train, mentor, and evaluate collections staff performance.
Collaborate with other departments such as sales and finance to improve collection efforts.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Collections Manager or similar role.
Strong knowledge of collection procedures and relevant laws.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficient in collections software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Work Experience:
College Degree Preferred
Knowledge of all state and federal laws and regulations as they pertain to debt collection.
Minimum Three (3) years of leadership experience, preferably in a financial institution setting.
Minimum Five (5) years of collections experience.
Knowledge of bankruptcy proceedings, foreclosures, repossessions and similar collection proceedings.
Experience with collections technology platforms (e.g., Encino, FIS, Fi‑Serv, etc.) preferred.
