The Modern Workplace Engineer is responsible for the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of all installed applications on Firm-managed physical desktops, laptops, and virtual platforms leveraging best-practice release processes.
Duties
Responsible for the creation, update, and management of both physical and virtual desktop/laptop images
Responsible for the deployment and configuration of all non-web applications to Firm-managed physical desktops and laptops, virtual desktops and XenApp servers
Responsible for escalations to third-level support including shared support of an on-call rotation schedule
Responsible for determining success of deployments and reporting on installations
Responsible for deployment-related problem identification and remediation
Responsible for the management of O/S and application patch deployments
Responsible for maintaining and improving documentation around desktop management
Responsible for the support of desktop management and monitoring tools in order to:
Identify and troubleshoot systemic issues
Capture trending health information
Gather analytics around end-user applications
Responsible for knowledge transfer to the User Support teams to assist them in managing the physical desktop, laptop, and virtual environments
Skills/Qualifications (Employee must possess the following qualifications, and excel in the following skill sets)
Management tools such as Microsoft InTune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Ivanti Environment Manager
Application Management in virtual environments including Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
Application packaging tools such as AdminStudio or Advanced Installer
Group Policy, Active Directory, Entra and conditional access policies
Scripting languages like PowerShell and VBS
Desktop and application monitoring tools
Experience with Legal applications and Lenovo hardware
Experience with the following a plus: Beyond Trust Privilege Management, Nerdio Manager for Enterprise, Ivanti Environment Manager
Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment is desirable

Minimum 3 years of experience in Desktop Engineering role
On site during normal working hours and available as necessary before or after normal working hours to work at the Firm, over the telephone, or at off-site meetings, in order to meet the demands of the job and the needs of the Firm
Expected to carry a work phone and respond when necessary
The anticipated annual base salaryrange for this position is $140,000-$160,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location from which the applicant will be performing the job.
