About Us Iowa Digestive Disease Center and Iowa Endoscopy Center are proud to serve the community and surrounding area with regard to digestive health needs. Our endoscopy center is one of only three centers in Iowa recognized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy is known as the leader in setting standards for excellence in gastrointestinal endoscopy and has designed the only national program recognizing quality and safety in the practice of gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Our center has also been accredited by the AAAHC, having met their rigorous quality and safety standards. AAAHC accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards. Our board-certified physicians specialize in: Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Diagnostic Endoscopy, Therapeutic Endoscopy, Infusion, and Advanced Therapeutics.

Education Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent required

Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a clinic setting preferred

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing procedure rooms, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and ensuring all instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use. This role plays a key part in supporting a safe, efficient workflow for both patients and providers. Strong attention to detail, adherence to infection‑control standards, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment are essential.

Responsibilities

Prepares, maintains, and ensures the proper functioning of endoscopic equipment and instruments for procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards

Cleans and disinfects endoscopy equipment in strict adherence to facility policies, procedures, and infection control standards

Operates and troubleshoots endoscopy and patient monitoring equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient safety

Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient needs to deliver appropriate supportive care before, during, and after procedures

Ensures a safe and secure environment to minimize the risk of patient injury and promote overall well‑being

Provides patient education regarding procedures, addressing questions and concerns to ensure understanding and comfort

Anticipates needs and assists in maintaining appropriate inventory levels of supplies to support efficient procedural workflow

Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care

Stay updated on the latest advancements in endoscopy techniques and technologies

Upholds patient confidentiality by refraining from discussing privileged information outside of the designated work area

Requirements

Demonstrate expertise in aseptic techniques and their application in clinical settings

Proficient in medical terminology associated with endoscopy procedures

Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology

Knowledge and experience in diagnostic evaluation processes

Familiarity with medical imaging techniques

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Capable of working efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Hours

Monday‑Friday 07:30am - 4:30pm
