Are you passionate about equine sports medicine and rehabilitation? Looking for a supportive, innovative team that values your growth, work-life balance, and long-term satisfaction?

Welcome to Front Range Equine Performance.

We’re redefining what it means to practice equine medicine—by thinking outside the box, creating flexible schedules, and fostering a sustainable, positive environment where veterinarians can thrive.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us Minimal On-Call

Shared only between four veterinarians for rehabilitation patients. Our on-site rehab team handles triage. No routine/ambulatory emergency coverage required.

A Focus on Sustainability

We’re committed to creating a sustainable model for equine veterinary practice—one that prioritizes work-life balance, long-term career satisfaction, and the health of our team. By limiting emergency duties, encouraging professional development, and embracing flexible scheduling, we’re building a future where you can love equine medicine for the long haul.

About the Role We’re seeking a motivated, team-oriented veterinarian with a strong interest in equine sports medicine, lameness, and rehabilitation. You’ll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to achieving outstanding outcomes through a mix of traditional and integrative therapies.

Because a large portion of our caseload includes complementary therapies (chiropractic, acupuncture), you must be certified or willing to become certified in these areas within the first 2 years of joining the practice.

Your Future with Us Caseload

Approximately 70% sports medicine/lameness and 30% complementary therapies. We’re looking for veterinarians who embrace both traditional diagnostics and integrative care.

Training & Support

Chiropractic, acupuncture, and rehabilitation certifications will be required over time. Not certified yet? We’ll pay for your training and provide mentorship to build your confidence and skillset. ( 3-year repayment clause applies if you leave within 3 years of certification. )

Professional Development

Education is part of our culture. Whether you’re certified or just getting started, you’ll be supported. Got a special interest—like saddle fit or regenerative therapies? We’ll help you grow that niche and become a go-to expert in the region.

Teaching & Mentorship

We love teaching. Veterinary and pre-vet students regularly join us for ride-alongs and hands‑on learning. If mentoring future professionals excites you, you'll feel right at home.

Ideal Candidate

Completed a 1-year general practice internship plus 1-year fellowship or associate position with strong lameness and imaging experience

Certified (or willing to become certified) in chiropractic, acupuncture, and rehabilitation

Excellent communicator and team player

Eligible for CO and WY licensure and USDA accreditation

Willing to travel to Steamboat Springs 4x/year (3–5 days at a time)

Bonus:

Strong consideration given to those who have completed a residency in or are Diplomates of the ACVSMR (Equine)

About Us Founded in 2017, Front Range Equine Performance delivers top-tier equine sports medicine, lameness care, and integrative therapies to Northern Colorado and beyond. We’ve grown into a 13-person team offering both ambulatory services and on‑site care at our full‑scale 35‑acre rehabilitation facility.

We are Colorado’s only private equine sports medicine practice with a full-service rehabilitation facility owned and operated by a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR), reflecting our dedication to excellence, innovation, and specialty advancement.

Located in Berthoud, Colorado, our practice offers the best of both worlds: small‑town charm with immediate access to the outdoors. We’re just minutes from the foothills, world‑class camping and hiking, and a short drive from Rocky Mountain National Park, mountain biking, skiing, and endless outdoor recreation—making this an ideal place for veterinarians who value adventure as much as their careers.

Our patients range from elite athletes to beloved pasture pets—including the occasional mini donkey! What they share is our unwavering commitment to state‑of‑the‑art care delivered with heart.

We’re proud of our collaborative, connected, and fun-loving culture—where monthly happy hours, shared learning, and a strong sense of community make our workplace as rewarding as the work itself.
