High performing in a specialty means we were in the top 10% nationally of all evaluated hospitals for that specialty or procedure and condition.
Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24‑hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.
The Surgical Services Department performs emergency, trauma, elective, in‑patient, out‑patient, and ambulatory/same day surgery. ASD also does pre‑and post‑procedure assessment and recovery of special procedures patients, and pre‑procedure assessment of cardiac cath lab patients. Specialties include general surgery, orthopedics, GU, GYN, thoracic, ophthalmic, vascular, plastic, neuro, dental, ENT, endoscopic, cardiovascular, and podiatry.
Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Responsibilities
Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
