Position Summary The Lead AV Systems Integrator will be responsible for the end-to-end installation, configuration, and commissioning of a hybrid presentation and video conferencing system at SUNY Upstate Medical University. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in Cisco Room EQ codecs, Q-SYS DSP environments, and Crestron control systems. The successful candidate must ensure all work complies with NYS Department of Labor and OSHA safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

System Installation:

Perform physical installation and cabling for Cisco Room EQ codecs, Panasonic laser projectors, Sennheiser beamforming microphone arrays, and Q-SYS audio components.

Programming & Commissioning:

Lead the programming and commissioning phases on-site, ensuring seamless integration between Cisco collaboration tools and Q-SYS control processing.

Decommissioning:

Oversee the uninstallation and staging of pre-existing AV equipment for the University’s surplus team.

On-Site Leadership:

Serve as the primary technical point of contact on-site daily for the duration of the project.

Compliance & Safety:

Maintain a safe work site in accordance with OSHA-10 standards and ensure all installations meet the rigid specifications of the RFP.

Mandatory Qualifications & Certifications

Industry Standards:

AVIXA CTS-I

(Certified Technology Specialist – Installation) required on-site daily.

AVIXA CTS-D

(Certified Technology Specialist – Design) must be held by the engineering lead.

OSHA-10 hr

Construction Safety certification.

Crestron Masters Certified Programmer (CMCP)

or higher (must be on-site during programming/commissioning).

Cisco Specializations:

Advanced Collaboration Architecture and Master Collaboration.

Q-SYS Control 201

certification.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience working within New York State University (SUNY) systems or academic medical centers.

Proven track record of managing projects subject to NYS Prevailing Wage regulations.

Expertise in configuring Cisco Smart Net and Remote Monitoring options.

Compensation $215.00 per hour
