Commissioning Engineer/Field Service Engineer
Location: New York State (project-based travel required within New York only)

Position Summary The Commissioning/Field Service Engineer is responsible for leading and executing the commissioning, start-up, and performance verification of bioenergy and RNG facilities. This role bridges engineering, construction, and operations to ensure systems are installed, tested, and placed into service safely, on schedule, and in compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities for bioenergy and RNG facilities, including anaerobic digesters, gas upgrading systems, and balance-of-plant equipment
Develop and manage commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, and schedules
Verify mechanical completion and readiness for start-up
Lead system pre-functional and functional testing
Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, utilities, and internal engineering teams
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues during start-up and early operations
Support performance testing and acceptance testing
Ensure commissioning activities comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards
Train operations and maintenance personnel during handover
Document commissioning results and provide final turnover packages to operations
