Controls – BAS – HVAC – Building Automation
Our client is seeking a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Engineer to join a respected and growing HVAC / Building Systems team. This is an office‑based role (offering some hybrid flexibility) ideal for a technically skilled HVAC/building automation professional who enjoys system design, programming, and troubleshooting without extensive field travel.
You’ll work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and clients to support the design, configuration, and integration of modern BAS and HVAC control systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. This role is well‑suited for an engineer experienced in Niagara/JACE programming, Johnson Controls platforms (including FX), and control system design and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:
Design, program, and configure Building Automation and HVAC control systems.
Perform control system design work, including sequence interpretation and layout.
Research equipment integration requirements to ensure proper control interface and compatibility.
Prepare control submittals, including control strategies, device schedules, and sequence documentation.
Prepare AutoCAD control drawings and wiring schematics; update drawings as needed.
Interpret mechanical prints, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation.
Develop and commission systems using Niagara N4/JACE and Johnson Controls (FX) platforms.
Perform BAS programming and graphic design for system UI and dashboards.
Troubleshoot control logic, network communication issues, and field device integration.
Respond to customer service calls and perform remote investigation/diagnostics.
Support field technicians during installation, startup, and commissioning.
Provide customer training on‑site when required.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
Support the development of system documentation, control strategies, and submittals.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in Building Automation, BAS Controls, or HVAC Controls Engineering.
Strong experience in control system programming, integration, and troubleshooting.
Proficient with AutoCAD and reading mechanical/electrical drawings.
Familiarity with Niagara/JACE, Johnson Controls / FX, and related BAS platforms.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering a plus
Ability to perform minimal local travel as needed.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
