Responsibilities for the VoIP Operations Engineer - SBC
Serve as an embedded engineer within federal operations, providing hands‑on SBC and VoIP expertise.
Configure, deploy, and maintain SBCs and PSX policy servers for SIP trunking, routing, and security.
Perform carrier‑grade SBC integration, including SIP normalization, header manipulation, and policy enforcement.
Conduct advanced troubleshooting at the SIP layer, including packet captures, call flow analysis, and fault isolation.
Support migration projects (TDM to SIP), lab testing of new SBC firmware/software, and interoperability validation.
Collaborate with network and voice teams to ensure high availability and compliance with federal standards.
Qualifications for the VoIP Operations Engineer - SBC
5+ years of experience in VoIP engineering and SBC deployment, preferably in carrier or large enterprise environments.
Expert‑level knowledge of SIP protocol, including interpreting SIP messaging and debugging complex call flows.
Hands‑on experience with SBC platforms and PSX policy server configuration.
Familiarity with SIP trunking, routing policies, and interconnect requirements for carrier‑grade deployments.
Experience with packet capture tools (Wireshark) and troubleshooting at the SIP layer.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and have an
Active Secret Clearance .
Knowledge of Cisco CUBE SBC, CUCM provisioning, and PBX environments.
Compensation/Benefits for the VoIP Operations Engineer - SBC
Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 (based on experience and clearance level).
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave, and Holidays.
