Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned inpatient unit. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.FT position available with on-call responsibilitiesDynamic individual to manage UR Medicine Imaging Sciences Nursing, including responsibility for nursing care delivery in multiple locations to include Interventional Radiology, Diagnostic Imaging and Adult Vascular Access Service at the University of Rochester Medical Center with manager cross coverage at outpatient locations to cover vacation periods. Must possess the necessary skills to work in a fast-paced, technologically demanding environment including delivery of direct patient care in multiple imaging modalities.
Key performance measures include advocacy for staff and patients, maintain nursing staff accountability, promoting nursing staff involvement in decision making, and demonstrating a level of approachability that fosters a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include leading the nursing staff in developing and maintaining clinical expertise, patient and family centered care and collaborative practice within the multidisciplinary team.
This individual is responsible for 24/7 management supported by the unit’s leadership team.
The candidate must be flexible, possess excellent communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills, with 5 years nursing experience, BS required
MS in Nursing preferred will be required within 5 years.
