This role ensures that each vaccination site operates efficiently, safely, and in accordance with federal and state guidelines. The supervisor provides on-site guidance to staff, coordinates with community partners, and ensures the delivery of high-quality, equitable immunization services. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct routine and ad hoc site visits to monitor vaccine administration practices, patient flow, and adherence to public health protocols, including installation and monitoring of temperature monitoring devices. Ensure sites comply with vaccine storage, handling, and administration requirements as outlined by CDC and state guidelines. Provide technical assistance and training to site staff on program enrollment, vaccine storage and handling and vaccine ordering. Review and evaluate site performance, identify gaps in processes or resources, and implement corrective actions as needed. Collect, analyze, and report site visit data to inform program improvements and ensure accountability. Assist with incident investigations, including adverse events or safety concerns, and ensure timely reporting and follow-up. Supervise a team of Immunization Program Representatives/Quality Assurance Specialists: Ensure that site visits are completed on-time based on CDC and RIDOH deadlines. Review weekly activity of Immunization Representatives (e.g., site visit schedule, volume of administrative work). Review electronic site visit tracking system for completeness and accuracy. Develop and update desktop procedures for site visit activities. Assist supervisor with attending national programmatic calls with the CDC to stay up-to-date on federal regulations and processes. Conduct site visits at participating providers to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines. Educate providers who are out of compliance on state and federal guidelines.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). At least 2 years of experience in vaccine operations, community health programs, or clinical oversight, including supervisory experience. Knowledge of vaccine administration guidelines, infection control practices, and health equity principles. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple sites and competing priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with staff, partners, and community members. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to provider offices throughout the region. Experience working in emergency response, immunization campaigns, or mass vaccination clinics. Familiarity with the RI Child and Adult Immunization Registry (RICAIR) and electronic health records (EHRs).Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
