Role Summary The Perioperative Registered Nurse (Circulating Nurse) plays a critical role in managing patient care throughout the intraoperative experience. Working outside the sterile field, the RN circulator ensures a safe, efficient, and supportive surgical environment while serving as the patient’s advocate and coordinating the efforts of the surgical team.
Hours: Part‑time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (hours may vary based on center needs).
What You’ll do
Assess patient needs preoperatively and intraoperatively
Develop and implement individualized care plans
Coordinate and communicate with the surgical team to maintain a safe, efficient OR environment
Monitor patient positioning, safety, and equipment use
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting
Support quality improvement and compliance initiatives
Uphold patient confidentiality and safety protocols
Collaborate across departments to optimize outcomes
What You’ll bring
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Current RN license in Illinois
Minimum 1 year OR experience within the past 3–5 years
BLS certification required; ACLS within 6 months of hire
Strong critical thinking, communication, and team skills
Compensation & Benefits
PTO, and 1/2 holiday pay for Part‑time employment status
Our hourly ranges are based on role, level, and location. Individual pay within the range is determined by work location and additional factors such as relevant skills, experience, and education or training.
