Functional Area Project Management (FAPM) Engineer I

A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. TSMC Arizona’s first fab will operate its leading‑edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2 nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. Responsibilities

Develop and oversee project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for tooling installation projects.

Lead and support the installation of industrial tools and machinery, ensuring adherence to technical specifications. Troubleshoot and recommend as needed.

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and site teams to execute project tasks as directed.

Monitor project progress and report variances to senior project managers.

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.

Communicate project updates to stakeholders and elevate issues to senior management as needed.

Maintain project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and change orders.

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field – OR – 2‑4 years’ experience in industrial construction.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of industrial tooling systems and installation processes (e.g., CNC machines, robotic systems, precision manufacturing equipment); proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Procore, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.); ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

Interpersonal Skills:

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Physical Requirements:

N/A; may be required to work a compressed work week (4‑day on, 3‑day off, 3‑day on, 4‑day off), night shift rotational basis, and on‑call rotations in a 24/7 high‑volume manufacturing environment. Night shift rotations are expected to be no more than 4 months per calendar year. Standard work hours: Monday through Friday.

Candidate must be willing and able to work on‑site at the Phoenix, AZ facility.
