Job Description American Traveler is hiring an RN for a 7-week Operating Room assignment requiring scrub and circulate skills and a SC or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Assignment is in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
Provides perioperative nursing care with both scrubbing and circulating responsibilities
Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, with two weekend on-call shifts over six weeks
Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
Charting is performed in Cerner EMR
Position lasts for 7 weeks only
Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and infectious materials expected in the perioperative setting
Must be comfortable working under stressful conditions and shifting priorities
May float to sister facilities as needed
Returning travelers may work up to one year per assignment with a required 30-60 day break before returning
First-time travelers are eligible for consideration
Compliance with background check and drug screening deadlines is mandatory
Requirements
Active SC or compact RN license required
Graduation from an accredited school or college of nursing required
AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required
Ability to scrub and circulate in the operating room is mandatory
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist in moving patients
BSN is highly desirable or must be completed within 5 years if required by department policy
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
