Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Overview Clackamas County Health Centers – Behavioral Health Clinics seek a full‑time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and treatment planning. This position is classified as a Nurse Practitioner at 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Prescribe and administer medications within legally established formulary; evaluate patient response; educate clients regarding medication risks and benefits; document according to clinic policies.
Conduct and document psychiatric evaluations and reassessments; order and interpret diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests; develop and implement treatment plans; make referrals to other health care providers and social service agencies.
Participate in clinic operations and quality assurance activities; evaluate and recommend improvements to health care services; assist in the formation and review of clinical protocols, policies and procedures; participate in continuing education and in‑service training.
Provide consultations to other service providers, group homes, schools and community groups on behavioral health care issues; develop and present education material.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice as a registered professional Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the State of Oregon with prescriptive privileges (within 30 days of hire).
Must meet the definition for a QMHP as established by the State of Oregon.
DEA registration certificate with Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 privileges (within 30 days of hire).
Must possess and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
Must successfully pass the credentialing process.
Experience in positions that require handling a wide range of situations and circumstances effectively, positively and professionally.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred: Experience in accurate psychiatric care including evaluations and medication management; crisis management; treatment plans; behavioral health clinic experience; Epic EHR; high caseloads (hundreds).
Pre‑Employment Requirements
Must pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment drug test.
Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check.
Driving is necessary for County business; must possess a valid driver’s license.
Work Schedule This position works 35 hours during a standard work week of Monday through Friday. Hybrid on‑site/telework subject to department business needs; telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington.
Benefits
Hourly Pay Range: $59.77 – $76.05
12 hours of vacation accrued per month; one‑time option to frontload first year of vacation accruals.
8 hours of sick accrued per month.
10 paid holidays and 1 personal day per year.
