Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a
Cyber Security Engineer
with expertise in Forescout to support a federal customer in McLean, VA. This mid‑level role focuses on implementing and operating next‑generation cybersecurity solutions, including network engineering, system administration, and Active Directory services. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Forescout CounterACT appliances and a strong understanding of federal security policies and compliance frameworks.
Responsibilities:
Implement and operate advanced cybersecurity tools and technologies to protect large‑scale networks.
Architect and design IP networks, including developing and documenting network topologies.
Perform network engineering tasks such as switch configuration, VLAN setup, and firewall appliance management.
Administer Windows and Linux systems, including troubleshooting, configuration, and security upgrades.
Deploy and maintain Forescout CounterACT appliances in customer environments.
Integrate cybersecurity data using enterprise tools such as Splunk for analysis and reporting.
Support Tier II IT operations, including ticket updates, issue remediation, and system monitoring.
Collaborate with team members and customers to resolve technical challenges and ensure mission success.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and 5+ years of IT experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years, or Master’s degree and 1+ year; equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience with network engineering and system administration in multi‑domain architectures.
Knowledge of Active Directory, LAN/WAN, VLANs, and virtualized environments.
1+ years of Windows or Linux administration experience.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA‑Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, etc.).
Ability to obtain DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider – Infrastructure Support certification within 30 days of start.
TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI polygraph.
Preferred:
Experience deploying and maintaining Forescout CounterACT appliances.
Familiarity with federal security policies, RMF processes, and risk management frameworks.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a team environment.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 (based on experience).
Benefits: Cigna medical, dental, vision, 401k, 20 days paid time off, 11 federal holidays, and sick leave as required by law.
