POSITION OVERVIEW TransGrid Energy is seeking an ambitious and passionate Senior SCADA Engineer to join our Team and will be responsible for leading and working with EPC Partners, Transmission Providers, IOUs and TGE’s off-take customers to ensure successful construction, commissioning, and operating utility-scale battery energy storage systems and solar projects. TGE has partnered with engineering contractors and this position is responsible for engaging and coordinating on all stages of project design, installation, and commissioning of the SCADA and controls equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the subject matter expert for SCADA and controls equipment for BESS and Solar technologies.

Work with SCADA integrator and Project Manager to execute site acceptance testing.

Review all architectural and design documentation for data acquisition and controls solutions.

Support installation of equipment including site acceptance testing and commissioning.

Provide technical leadership to suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders.

Lead the review of technical documentation such as site studies, reports, permits, etc. as related to design, cost, or schedule impact.

Review technical components of project contracts related to SCADA and controls (EPCA, Procurement Contracts, LTSA, PPA, IA, etc.).

Develop specifications, contracts, and a document control structure to support existing projects and the future pipeline.

Manage workflows of 3 rd party Owner’s Engineers.

Coordinate internal and external resources for subject matter expertise and project risk reduction.

Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Minimum 7 years’ experience in Solar / BESS SCADA engineering.

Experience with control and SCADA systems and troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, industrial automation protocols (Modbus, PCs, DNP3).

Relevant work experience in the design and development of utility scale solar and battery storage power plants.

Experience with analysis tools for ESS operation.

Experience with industry standard communications methods such as: IEC61850, DNP3, Modbus ethernet interfaces to numerous GE and third-party devices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with Gantt charts (MS Project or equivalent).

Strong in Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to talk or hear.

Frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.

Ability to work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.

Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours, with frequent interruptions.

Willingness to travel.
