Are you passionate about driving accuracy, efficiency, and impact through data? We're seeking a detail-oriented forecasting professional to lead efforts in improving item-level forecast accuracy, enhancing inventory performance, and providing sales support. In this role, you'll collaborate across teams—from Buyers and Planners to GMMs and vendors—to turn insights into action and ensure our products are where they need to be, when they need to be there.
Job Summary Responsible for item location level forecast accuracy in-stocks and WOS stock‑turns at the stores and warehouses. Works closely with Forecast Adm, GMM, DMM, Buyers, Planners, and vendors to support inventory sales and customer service objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the accuracy of item level forecasts including promotional forecast accuracy
Analyze and manage weekly statistical forecasts at item level
Responsible for store and warehouse in-stocks and WOS Turns
Assign optimal forecast life cycles to new items, ongoing items and discontinued items
Regularly collaborates with Forecast Administrator, Buying team and vendors to modify forecasts to incorporate market information and ongoing trends into statistical forecasts
Process new item replacement for discontinued items
Identify, define and regularly evaluate new item performance
Keep team members (buyers, planners, DMMs, GMMs and Forecast Administrator) informed of inventory level results and forecast accuracy trending
Participate in collaborative vendor forecast management
Maintain understanding of market trends, product life cycle, environmental climates that impact demand for products and use this information to produce accurate forecasts
Ensure that forecast is consistent with the financial plan
Utilize SQL to perform statistical analysis of forecast accuracy and sales inventory and margin performance
Responsible for setting correct replenishment parameters to ensure forecast is received and utilized in replenishment
Report directly to the General Merchandise Manager (GMM) of the assigned department
Complete work based upon priorities and proper flow of workload
Perform other duties as assigned
General Experience Three years experience in administrative merchandising technical or other responsible work which enables the applicant to gain a knowledge of merchandising and forecasting replenishment policies and practices, excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills that will enhance cross‑functional analysis ability, and the ability to analyze problems and recommend practical solutions using sound judgment.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of college business or technical computer academic study above the high school level may be substituted for nine months of experience, up to a maximum of a four year bachelor degree for three years general experience.
AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Two years of progressively responsible experience which provided background in retail merchandising and replenishment methods and procedures, merchandise information systems, and demonstrated skill in the use of information systems to replenish and forecast demand.
