We are looking for a
Database Engineer
to design, build, optimize, and maintain
high-performance, secure, and scalable database platforms
supporting enterprise applications. The role involves working closely with application, cloud, and DevOps teams to ensure data reliability, performance, and availability across systems.
Key Responsibilities Database Design & Development · Design and implement
relational and NoSQL database schemas
aligned with application and business requirements.
· Develop and optimize
SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions .
· Ensure data integrity, normalization, and efficient indexing strategies.
Performance & Reliability · Monitor and tune databases for
performance, scalability, and availability .
· Diagnose and resolve
query bottlenecks, locking issues, and latency problems .
· Plan and execute
capacity planning, partitioning, and archiving strategies .
Operations, Security & Governance · Implement
backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high-availability
solutions.
· Ensure
data security, encryption, access controls, and compliance .
· Support database upgrades, patching, and version migrations.
· Manage databases in
cloud environments
(AWS / Azure / GCP).
· Work with
IaC and CI/CD pipelines
for database provisioning and change management.
· Collaborate with DevOps teams on monitoring, logging, and alerting.
· Partner with
application developers and architects
on data access patterns.
· Support production systems with
on-call or escalation support
as required.
· Contribute to database standards, documentation, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications Core Database Skills · Strong hands-on experience with
RDBMS
(PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
· Experience with
NoSQL databases
(MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra – any).
· Advanced SQL expertise and query optimization skills.
· Solid understanding of
transactions, locking, isolation levels, and indexing .
· Experience with managed databases such as
AWS RDS / Aurora ,
Azure SQL / PostgreSQL , or equivalent.
· Familiarity with
replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms .
· Knowledge of caching and data acceleration (Redis, Memcached).
Good to Have (Preferred) · Experience with
data migration and modernization
projects.
· Exposure to
data warehousing / analytics platforms
(Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
· Knowledge of
event-driven or streaming data systems
(Kafka, Kinesis).
· Experience with
monitoring tools
and performance dashboards.
