Job Description Position Purpose Responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the facility to include hazardous waste storage, treatment, appropriate disposal, health and safety, compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies, and the hiring, training, and performance management of employees. Establishes annual goals and objectives and maintains profit and loss ratios. Reviews and approves project estimates, proposals, and contracts.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities
Prepares annual budgets and reviews forecasts.
Enforces all compliance, health and safety, and other pertinent compliance issues in accordance with regulatory policies.
Maintains a professional image to customers by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to potential problems.
Oversees compliance with all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all other governmental regulations.
Implements all required training courses as required by OSHA, as well as update refresher courses instituted by VES-TS. Oversees accuracy of all federal and state agency regulations.
Oversees operation of all equipment including maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Regularly reviews contract bids and pricing of cost ratios, accuracy of terminology, and preparation prior to reaching an agreement of contract specifications.
Provide a safe and compliant work environment.
Qualifications Education / Experience / Background
BS in Chemistry or related technical discipline required or equivalent experience
5 to 10 years of hazardous waste experience preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Extensive knowledge in the following areas: DOT, EPA, TSCA, and OSHA required.
Knowledge of site capabilities and limitations to ensure efficient and effective disbursement/ storage.
Strong team player
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
Strong customer orientation
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Required Certification / Licenses / Training
Valid driver’s license
OSHA HAZWOPER Certification
