Project Quality Manager Location: Seattle/Federal Way, Washington. Salary range: $155,000 - $175,000, based on experience.

This full‑time, on‑site position supports projects in the Pacific Northwest, such as Sound Transit’s future light rail system expansion.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the overall quality function on the project.

Develop, implement, and monitor the quality plans and procedures for the design‑build project management team.

Oversee the progressive design‑build contractor’s quality management program, spanning design, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.

Oversee and direct quality management on projects from conception to completion.

Prepare quality plans, procedures, and checklists.

Review quality plans and procedures from contractors.

Maintain schedules of quality‑related work activities.

Obtain and maintain all safety‑related certifications to perform field work.

Participate in preparatory, initial, and follow‑up phase meetings for work elements.

Coordinate inspections of the work and materials, review all work by contractors.

Oversee and review work of supplier facilities and material testing labs.

Issue or monitor daily inspection reports.

Prepare documentation and reports pertaining to work progress.

Track quality findings, monitor compliance with requirements.

Identify, analyze, and mitigate construction risks.

Develop and deliver quality management system training to project personnel.

Plan, conduct, and close out audits and surveillance activities to verify compliance with quality programs.

Issue and track nonconformance reports and follow up on corrective actions.

Participate in punchlist walk‑downs and assist with project closeout activities.

Work in person at the project team office/colocation space and on the construction site as appropriate.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

10+ years’ experience as a Construction Quality Manager, Construction Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or QC Supervisor on large scale public works and federal construction projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft MS365 tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Ability to work with limited supervision.

Technical reporting and writing skills; ability to display data and prepare presentations suited to the audience.

Ability to analyze complex data and situations and resolve issues using sound, professional judgment.

Desirable Qualifications

ASQ CMQ/OE, CQA, CQE certifications.

Experience with Progressive Design‑Build.

Experience with Sound Transit.
