Software Engineer - Simulation (Associate, Mid Level, Senior) Company : The Boeing Company

The Boeing Company is looking for a

Software Engineer - Simulation (Associate, Mid Level or Senior)

to join the

Phantom Works Weapons Software

team located in

Saint Charles, Missouri . This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. Join a mission‑driven team designing and developing high‑fidelity simulation models, visualizations, and virtual environments that accelerate testing, improve safety, and validate durability across the full product lifecycle.

You’ll partner with stakeholders to capture simulation requirements, perform modeling, simulation, and analysis, and integrate simulation software with hardware systems to ensure realistic, repeatable test conditions. Your work will include data collection and processing, validating and refining models and code against real‑world test data and benchmarks, and documenting test results to drive confident engineering decisions.

This role thrives on technical leadership and hands‑on delivery: implement modern tools and frameworks, migrate and modernize legacy simulation software, and build automated test procedures and execution environments that meet real‑time constraints. You’ll collaborate across cross‑functional engineering teams, support project management for simulation efforts, and apply expertise in real‑time architectures, APIs, and integration to produce demonstrable, production‑ready simulations that enable safer, more capable systems.

Position Responsibilities

Design, architect, and develop simulation models, visualizations, virtual environments, platforms, and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Partner with stakeholders to review and identify simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.

Perform design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.

Perform data collection and processing for use in simulations.

Validate, verify, and refine simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures, and test environments, executing test procedures and documenting test results and models against real‑world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models.

Document and maintain technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models.

Partner with cross‑functional engineering teams to enable integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems.

Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment.

Modernize, migrate, sustain, and update simulation software to adapt legacy systems to new operating systems.

Perform simulation software project management functions.
