Sterile Processing Instrument Tech II - Satellite OR
Join the Mayo Clinic team as a Sterile Processing Instrument Technician II in the Satellite Operating Room. This role supports the perioperative environment by ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are safe for use.

Responsibilities As a sterile processing technician, you will perform advanced, complex, multistep processes and support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient. Key duties:
Decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and quality assurance testing of re‑usable surgical equipment, instrumentation, and scopes.
Cleaning, packaging, and re‑processing of reusable surgical equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
Supporting the sterile core to meet the surgical team’s needs.
Ensuring compliance with best practices and standards from The Joint Commission, AAMI, IAHSCMM, AORN, OSHA, DOT, WHO, FDA, EPA, and HIPPA.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum one year of sterile processing experience OR graduation from an accredited and/or hospital approved sterile processing program and eligible to sit for certification through HSPA or CBSPD.
Knowledge of specific sterilization modalities and complex advanced processing systems preferred.
Knowledge of High, Low and Intermediate disinfection levels preferred.
Progressive computer knowledge for advanced computerized instrument tracking systems and inventory management preferred.
Proven interpersonal skills and effective communication skills preferred.
Certification through IAHSCMM or CBSPD required within one year of hire and maintained thereafter.
Compensation $20.61 - 28.91 / hour
Schedule Full Time – Mid Shift Monday‑Friday 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm.
