Responsibilities
Drive a vehicle to transport supplies and equipment to and from the store, customers, hospitals, and other facilities.
Deliver all equipment to the patient's residence or healthcare facility in a timely manner.
Collect cash, checks, and credit card information as instructed on the delivery invoice.
Return completed paperwork and collected money promptly.
Educate patients/caregivers on the proper use, safety, and maintenance of delivered equipment, ensuring instruction sheets are left with them.
Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) policies and procedures at all times.
Perform an environmental assessment to ensure optimal placement of equipment for patient safety and usage.
Inform patients of all emergency numbers and procedures, leaving HMH brochures with toll‑free numbers during delivery.
Be on‑call, attentive, and prompt for after‑hours emergency deliveries, responding within 15 minutes and completing deliveries within 2 hours.
Follow infection control policy and universal precautions, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Maintain inventory control of equipment and supplies on vehicles, stock extra equipment for prompt deliveries, and identify quality issues for continuous improvement.
Operate the vehicle safely, obeying all traffic laws, refueling, cleaning, and checking for maintenance as needed.
Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adhere to HMH's Organizational and Managerial competencies and standards of behavior.
Lift a minimum of 75 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 75 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent program.
One (1) year of service work experience.
Strong customer service and training skills.
Durable Medical Equipment (DME) knowledge or preferred experience.
Valid driver's license from a U.S. state.
Compensation Starting at $25.38 hourly.
