We are actively seeking experienced Heavy Civil Construction Lead Estimators to join an industry-leading firm in North Carolina that offers fantastic employee appreciation and excellent opportunities for career growth. Our client is one of the best, most respected heavy civil construction firms in the Southeast. We self-perform heavy highway, public works, and site development projects around the Southeast. This role would be with a dynamic firm that has progressive leadership and a culture that consistently ranks as one of the region’s top contractors.
The Lead Estimator will be responsible for calculating the cost of a broad range of projects. The goal is to provide accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning, performing quantity takeoffs, producing proposals, preparing cost estimates by analyzing requests for proposals, reviewing bid instructions, blueprints, specifications, and related bid documents, and working with subcontractors and vendors to obtain proposal pricing to incorporate in the bid estimate.
Must have experience in one or more of the following areas: heavy highway, bridges/concrete structures, mass excavation, MSE, site & paving concrete, and bridge experience.
Employee Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary $140-$180K, DOE
Annual bonus
401k with company match
Company Vehicle or Allowance (Gas Card)
Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in heavy civil construction with an emphasis in the public works, heavy highway, bridges/concrete structures, and commercial/residential site work arena
Experience with state DOTs and municipalities is ideal
Microsoft Office Suite
Hard Dollar, BlueBeam, Agtek, and/or Primavera P6 preferred
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
Negotiated project experience preferred, including technical writing skills
