Lead Material Handler - Industrial Bakery Manufacturing Position Summary The Lead Material Handler ensures the timely and accurate delivery of raw materials and packaging to production while maintaining Bridor’s high standards for quality, safety, and GMP compliance. This role involves supervising and coaching material handling staff, overseeing inventory management, and supporting warehouse operations. Starting Pay: $24/hour. Reports To: Supply Chain Manager.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management

Lead, coach, and train material handling team members to ensure adherence to Bridor safety guidelines, SOPs, and GMP practices.

Communicate team-related issues or non‑compliance with policies to the Supply Chain Manager.

Maintain Train‑the‑Trainer forklift certification and train/retrain all material handling personnel.

Encourage teamwork, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Material Handling & Inventory Management

Prepare and stage raw materials according to production orders.

Ensure correct quantities and quality of raw materials are available for production.

Oversee the receipt, inspection, labeling, and documentation of incoming materials in Bridor’s paperless system.

Manage returns of unused production materials, including proper labeling, counting, and reporting.

Maintain dry and refrigerated storage of ingredients, including allergens, per Bridor protocols.

Ensure proper labeling of all materials, including allergen and SAP labels.

Perform SAP transactions, including receipts and stock movements.

Compliance & Safety

Uphold good manufacturing practices (GMP), hygiene standards, and food safety protocols.

Participate in monthly and annual audits, training sessions (GMP, HACCP, Radley, SAP), and continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.

Coordinate incoming parcel deliveries to respective departments.

Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and production operations.

Technical Skills

Valid lift truck operator certification (or ability to obtain quickly).

Safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and scissor lifts.

Computer proficiency: Outlook, Word, Excel, SAP, Radley.

Knowledge of stock rotation, GMPs, HACCP, and BRC standards.

Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

Stand or sit for extended periods with minimal breaks.

Lift up to 50 lbs without mechanical assistance.

Work in variable environments: main freezer, refrigerated coolers, or outdoors in heat, cold, rain, snow, or wind.

Ability to read and record data from thermometers, LCD screens, truck seals, and other equipment.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 1 year in a leadership role.

Minimum 2 years operating forklifts (Reach) safely.

Experience with warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, hand trucks, rider forklifts, and scissor lifts.

Work Schedule

Day, evening, night shifts, and weekends as needed.
