Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) with Security Clearance
Kitty Hawk Technologies, a growing service and technology innovator, is seeking a talented and motivated professional to deliver lean and effective solutions to our government partners. We have an immediate opening for a Model Based Systems Engineer to join our team. This position will provide an opportunity to develop the innovative technology that supports some of our nation’s most important defense initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support an RDTE project in developing system architectures using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler. Perform MBSE efforts in Cameo (requirements development, documentation, architecture documentation, traceability, SysML and parametric representations) for an anti‑ship cruise missile test target and associated M&S efforts. Document system architecture and requirements using Cameo System Modeler. Work with program managers and missile engineers to develop, derive, and track requirements. Collaborate with developers and missile engineers to develop appropriate verification and validation of requirements. Track requirements, change requests, configuration control changes, risks and mitigation plans with program manager and technical leads. Adhere to existing project SysML style guidance. Participate in recurring technical exchange meetings to align model development with project milestones and requirements. Prepare technical presentations, briefings, and papers to address model development status. Work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment. Required Education & Qualifications: Five (5) years of experience in model‑based systems engineering (MBSE), specifically Cameo System Modeler. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline. Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD clearance – U.S. citizenship required. Experience with industry‑standard architecture and modeling languages (UML, SysML) and frameworks (DoDAF, UAF). Knowledge of an industry‑standard architecture tool (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect). Effective oral and written communication skills; proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Quick learner who adapts easily to frequently changing requirements and thrives in an exciting environment. Desired Skills: Experience with SysML and Teamwork Cloud. Experience integrating technologies into operational‑level architectures and working alongside operational forces. Exercise independent judgment and work autonomously with minimal supervision. Strong written and oral communication skills, multitasking ability, and professional client interaction. Experience leading a team of junior/mid‑level engineers. Benefits: 401(k) and matching.
