Experienced Calibration Technician
to join our Metrology team in
New Orleans, LA .
Position Responsibilities
Plan, check, set up, and operate Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment
Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results
Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems
Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork
Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes
Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned by lead technician
Perform visual check of M&TE/process equipment for discrepancies and wear
Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes
Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes
Work with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of M&TE, and assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures
Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results
Perform logistics associated with routing calibrated assets to remote Boeing labs and suppliers for calibration services
Perform tasks associated with Test Asset Management and Property Management including asset tagging, redeployment, storage and surplus
Basic Qualifications (Required)
2+ years of experience calibrating and/or using Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)
2+ years of experience in test assets or metrology
2+ years of experience using electronic test equipment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Associate’s degree or higher and/or related military training in electronics and/or Metrology
Metrology experience in electrical parameters (not to exclude other parameters)
5+ years of experience in a calibration laboratory
An active U.S. Secret or higher Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active
Pay & Benefits Pay range: $60,350 – $81,650. Boeing offers a Total Rewards package that includes competitive base pay, variable compensation, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time away from work. Eligibility and specific benefits vary by location and date of hire.
