Working under direct supervision, this position is responsible for participating in the acquisition, sanitization, distribution, and minor maintenance of all equipment and supplies required for operation of animal facilities. In smaller work groups the incumbent may be responsible for one or more areas of responsibility as outlined below.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Pre‑Sterile Area (PSA) – Operates tunnel washers, bottle filling machines and rack washers; builds SKU’s for redistribution to animal rooms; quality controls materials including shavings level and water levels in bottles; loads and unloads autoclaves.
Wash Area – Operates tunnel washers, bottle washing machines, decapping machines and rack washers sanitizing soiled supplies and equipment into the CSA; organizes floor area receiving soiled materials and equipment through rapid roll doors; performs maintenance on pallets.
Sterile Supply Area (SSA) – Removes Autoclave Carts from Autoclaves; moves and transports Autoclave Carts to parking spots and automated induction; loads manual induction with slow‑moving SKU’s.
All Areas – Safety – Complies with all safety procedures and policies; attends all safety‑related training; required to adhere to all testing requirements relating to PPE and to wear PPE as required.
All Areas – Sanitation – Sanitizes all processing equipment & machinery, floors, airlocks, locker rooms.
All Areas – Quality – Quality control all materials processing equipment, sterilizing equipment, sterile supply equipment and all associated processes to ensure optimal standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ability to perform physical tasks on a regular basis, including manipulating heavy objects, climbing step ladders with heavy objects, pushing, pulling, and regularly lifting of up to 50 pounds.
The ability to maintain accurate records.
Regular and dependable attendance to maintain workflow.
Ability to enter and exit work area through multiple Personal Entry Locks (PEELS).
Ability to don required personal protective equipment (PPE) and mouse protective equipment (MPE).
The ability to learn sanitation methods to meet the criteria needed to maintain the health status and ensure the well‑being of mice.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining positive, team‑player behavior.

Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED required
Pay Range $19.93 - $27.40
