position.
Fort Valley State University is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365‑acre campus is Georgia's second‑largest public university in area.

Job Summary The Program Assistant for Life on the Farm will provide necessary backup assistance and program support to the Agriculture & Natural Resources unit, Family and Consumer Sciences, and 4‑H Youth Development.
Duties And Responsibilities
Travel into various counties to carry out appointments.
Interacts with different schools' systems and community activities throughout the state of Georgia.
Fulfill all pre‑scheduled appointments.
Request travel arrangements in connection with programming.
Provide the necessary feed and nurture to maintain healthy animals.
Be computer savvy and able to adapt to changes in this profession to promote good customer service and adaptability as needed.
Physical Demands / Work Environment Performs repetitive tasks periodically. Requires standing or walking (e.g., some Extension Programs, deliveries to other departments) occasionally. Requires lifting and/or moving 25 pounds. Regular schedule is Monday through Friday. This position is with Cooperative Extension; evenings after 5 pm or weekends may be required as requested. Extensive travel may be expected.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or higher.
Relevant experience preferably in an educational environment.
