General Purpose Under general supervision, assist in development and control of financial functions, procurement and inventory management to accomplish department strategic initiatives.
Typical Duties
Assist in the planning and development of business projects and programs, including overseeing new lease management, asset inventory, performance measures, and parking revenue control systems.
Supervise and coordinate major auditing functions, develop audit plans, analyze outcomes, identify deficiencies, investigate misappropriations, prepare financial, statistical and operating reports, and conduct research and cost‑benefit analysis.
Manage procurement of inventory items, contracts and bids; communicate with vendors, prepare purchase requisitions, recommend sources, approve requests, monitor contracts and expenditures, and recommend policy changes.
Maintain inventory control of assigned area: receipt, inspection, storage, security, issuance, special orders, reporting, contractor monitoring, and liaison with staff.
Perform administrative, professional and incidental duties: conduct studies, serve on committees, represent department at conferences, prepare reports, assist with budgeting, and maintain databases.
Supervise assigned personnel: schedule, assign, instruct, appraise performance, provide training, enforce rules, counsel, motivate, interview applicants and recommend employee actions.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
Experience: Four (4) years progressively responsible professional accounting, finance, or professional administrative experience, including two (2) years of procurement experience.
Licenses: Texas Class “C” Driver’s License or equivalent from another state.
