Assistant Director of Nursing RN (ADON) – The Plaza at Lubbock

Overview The Plaza at Lubbock is looking for an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with previous skilled nursing experience to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This key management role will assist in the leadership and delivery of clinical services for the facility, ensuring residents receive the best possible quality care.
Responsibilities
Maintain nursing service obligations, goals, and standards consistent with licensure requirements and the Nurse Practice Act.
Oversee, direct, and coordinate nursing staff to provide resident care consistent with standard nursing practices.
Participate in screening prospective residents and ongoing assessment of resident needs.
Assure staff adherence to infection control procedures, quality assurance programs and OSHA procedures.
Function as the liaison between the facility and outside caregivers.
Conduct employee conferences, counseling, and evaluations; participate in hiring and orientation of new nursing employees.
Assist in ongoing in‑service education of nursing staff.
Adhere to the nursing service budget.
Assume responsibility for decision regarding all aspects of nursing care, consulting with the Director of Assisted Living and other resources.
Ensure provision of medications, treatments, and nursing services according to care plans and physician instructions.
Monitor/Control inventories of drugs and supplies.
Notify the Director of Assisted Living and physician of significant changes in resident condition.
Formulate plan of care based on resident assessment and assign care attendant assignments.
Attend department head meetings, staff meetings, and serve on appropriate committees as required.
Requirements
LVN license in the State of Texas.
Previous skilled nursing facility experience with a solid understanding of clinical operations and regulatory compliance.
Experience in nursing management and/or staff development.
Demonstrated ability to maintain strong employee relationships.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal skills.
