Senior Systems Engineer Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $152,150.00/Yr. - USD $253,550.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Description SRC is searching for a skilled Senior Systems Engineer, with a primary focus on managing and optimizing the Nutanix hypervisor environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, support, and patching of Nutanix systems, ensuring high availability and performance of the virtualized infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Nutanix hypervisor environments to support mission applications and services
Performing system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure reliability and scalability
Providing advanced technical support for Nutanix-related issues, including incident resolution and root cause analysis
Applying patches, updates, and security configurations to Nutanix systems in accordance with best practices
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement virtualization solutions that meet customer needs
Documenting system configurations, processes, and procedures for operational continuity
Staying current with industry trends and advancements in hypervisor technologies to recommend improvements
Requirements
Possess an active Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) certification
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology related field
Three years minimum of experience as senior systems engineer supporting a DOD program of similar size and scope ($40M-50M, 35-40 personnel)
Five years minimum of hands‑on professional experience as data center engineer working with SDWAN or Hyperconverged Infrastructure for program/project of similar size and scope ($40M-50M, 35-40 personnel)
Five plus years of experience in systems engineering, with at least three years focused hands‑on experience on virtualization technologies
Hands‑on experience with at least one major hypervisor platform (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V, or Nutanix AHV)
Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, including compute, storage, and networking in virtualized environments
Proficiency in system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in enterprise IT environments
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Possess IAT/IAM Level II or greater (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)
Desired Skills
Experience with Nutanix AHV hypervisor installation, configuration, and management
Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integration with Government cloud platforms
Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible) for infrastructure management
Clearance Information SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL
