Apply for the Navigation Systems Technician at Life Cycle Engineering. Location: Ocean Springs, MS. Pay range: $16.00–$24.00 per hour.
Role Overview: As a Navigation Systems Technician you will support the U.S. Navy in the installation and testing of Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS) on LPD‑class ships and DDG‑class ships.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Function as a test technician, provide installation and testing support, development of simulation equipment, and system setups/tests.
Perform software and hardware testing while developing test procedures.
Provide strong distance support/troubleshooting and on‑site support for LPD‑class ships and DDG fleet.
Install and debug navigation systems aboard U.S. Navy ships.
Interface with OEMs and vendors to prepare equipment for installation, testing and troubleshooting.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
High School Diploma or Trade/Industrial School Diploma (or GED Equivalent) and/or related military experience.
Two (2) years of professional experience as an Engineering Technician.
U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Experience
Experience troubleshooting IBS or steering controls.
Computer networking familiarity: LAN setup/DHCP/IP configuration, TCP/IP, UDP, routing tables, network diagnostics.
Linux and C/C++ experience desired.
Windows OS familiarity, including Windows NT/2000/XP, setup, manipulation, troubleshooting, Group Policy, Registry.
Computer hardware experience: building PCs, repair, hardware diagnostics, hard drive replacement, memory upgrades.
Experience with PLCs (plus).
Physical Demands and Expectations
Regular physical activity: walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting up to 15 lbs; occasional prolonged sitting.
Ability to speak, read, hear, write, with or without assistance.
Use of phone, computer systems, copier, fax, and other office equipment.
