About the Role Peraton is seeking a mid‑level Business Analyst. This position includes responsibilities such as gathering business requirements, analyzing data, identifying process improvement opportunities, creating detailed specifications and models, and communicating findings to stakeholders. Mid‑level BAs also guide entry‑level analysts, present solutions to management, and support project management, requiring strong skills in data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau, or Power BI), SQL, communication, and agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Elicit and document business needs from stakeholders through interviews and meetings to define project scope and objectives.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data to identify trends, insights, and performance indicators (KPIs), and create reports and dashboards to present findings to stakeholders.
Map existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions and strategies to optimize operations and streamline workflows.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications, system diagrams, and use cases for technical teams to implement.
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, communicating project status, issues, and solutions clearly and effectively.
Assist with project planning, monitor progress, and ensure that solutions align with business requirements and are delivered on time.
Mentor and guide entry‑level business analysts and junior team members in problem‑solving and analysis.
Qualifications
2 years with BA/BS, 0 years with MA/MS, 6 years no degree (interpreted as required experience equivalent to a degree)
Must be a US Citizen.
Experience in agile support environments.
Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
Primary work locations: Tacoma, WA; Aurora, CO; San Antonio, TX; Falls Church, VA; remote work may be considered in special cases.
Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role, demonstrating a strong understanding of business processes and project lifecycles.
Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and strong SQL skills for data manipulation and reporting.
Familiarity with process modeling tools, data warehousing concepts, and potentially project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
Excellent communication, presentation, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
Desired Skill
BA/BS (4‑Year) degree in an IT or math related field (preferred).
Experience working within Military Health environments is a plus.
Salary & Benefits Target Salary Range: $66,000 – $106,000. Salary is determined by various factors including scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, geographic location, and contract considerations. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
