Procurement Category Manager – Corporate Services Albemarle Corporation is seeking a forward‑thinking Procurement Category Manager to lead complex category strategies across our global Corporate Services portfolio. This hybrid role requires in‑office presence 3 days per week at our Charlotte, NC office.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with procurement leadership and business stakeholders to set and evolve category strategy for fiscal years and longer time frames.

Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive business value while ensuring cost competitiveness, high service levels, responsible sourcing, sustainability, and innovation.

Conduct detailed spend analysis with data analysts to shape category management decisions.

Ensure sourcing activities comply with corporate policies by working closely with Legal, HR, Finance, and other functional teams.

Lead global and regional RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, evaluate vendors, and implement selection decisions using procurement technology platforms.

Coordinate cross‑functional efforts to mitigate supplier risk and maintain consistent value and quality.

Support adoption of procurement processes, procedures, and technology across Regional Procurement Service teams.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of sourcing best practices and market data.

Drive and roll‑out category management best practices across Regional Procurement Service teams.

Qualifications (What You Bring)

6‑8+ years of strategic sourcing/category management with growing responsibilities; Corporate Services experience required.

Excellent influencing skills and ability to work without authority.

Creative thinker with strategic agility and strong data analysis skills.

Deep understanding of Source‑to‑Pay (S2P) processes, supplier relationship management, and category frameworks.

Strong decision‑making, business acumen, and negotiation skills.

Effective oral and written communication; advanced analytical tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, or procurement platforms.

Experience with Lean and Change Management practices.

High learning agility, change agility, people agility, and results agility.

Preferred

Experience in procurement spend data management and sourcing/contracting tools.

Proficiency in English for external and internal business communication.

Knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, German, or Chinese is a plus.
