Job Overview
Deputy Project Manager – Full‑time – U.S. Locations: Tempe/Phoenix, AZ; San Diego, CA; Chicago, IL; Las Vegas, NV; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Tampa, FL. Work may require up to 100% travel. Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager in tendering works, bid reviews, and bid analysis. Manage construction projects upon award of contracts. Coordinate with contractors. Monitor budget and schedule with adherence to cost and delivery commitments. Document construction monitoring and provide weekly project status reports. Maintain weekly construction logs in a concise, professional format. Record and document significant verbal, telephone, and media messaging. Control quality, resolve poor‑quality fabrication, installation, or materials by contractors and trade disciplines. Control change orders, applying detailed knowledge of change and contractual requirements. Ensure safety compliance, following WSP and USPS SH&E requirements. Attend project start‑up meetings and document attendance. Respond to RFIs, material, and equipment submittals and shop drawings. Interface with client as defined for the program. Turn over project documentation, including as‑built drawings, training manuals, OEM installation/operation & maintenance manuals. Test and commission equipment and systems. Travel up to 100% on an overnight basis. Follow USPS/WSP program standards, seeking guidance from senior construction managers in planning, execution, and delivery. Apply knowledge of construction processes and management skills for integration, coordination, scope management, time management, cost management, quality assurance, and communication. Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract and quality standards. Maintain accurate record keeping in compliance with contract and regulatory requirements. Comply with all USPS/WSP Environmental, Health and Safety requirements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or relevant experience. Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience; demonstrated success with construction management or related disciplines. Prior relevant project management experience strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and MS Project. Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and project management software such as Procore a plus. Experience working with direct and indirect resources on light industrial or commercial projects. Strong organizational and communication skills; detail oriented, dependable, efficient. Knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance and negotiation skills. Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules for architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, and building structures. Physical Demands
Ability to stoop, sit, stand, or be on feet for extended periods; handle standard field‑testing equipment. Work in varying environments (office and field settings). Travel up to 100% with potential overnight stays and work flexible hours. Pass drug test, background check, and company Motor Vehicle Record check. Benefits & Compensation
