This role provides a competitive base pay ranging from $16.00/hr to $18.00/hr.
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits (e.g., proactive help, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
Recommend items for sale, trade‑up and/or companion items and place products in the OTC aisle when appropriate.
Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records.
Perform pharmacy duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, ensure accurate patient information entry, fill prescriptions, verify medicines, check for interactions, assist in scheduling and workflow management.
Report prescription errors immediately, adhere to Company policies, and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
Process and resubmit manual claims for third‑party prescription services efficiently.
Assist the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities, ordering, unpacking and checking pharmaceuticals, and filing claims for overages, shortages or damaged goods.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal and sale merchandise.
Assist with separation of food items and product placement according to policy.
Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment.
Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service and creative machine sales.
Assume web pick‑up responsibilities (monitor orders, pick items and deliver to customers).
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to keep the store clean, neat, and orderly.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintain respectful relationships with coworkers, and complete special assignments as required.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or required state certification.
Attend training, complete PPLs requested by Manager or corporate, and acquire continuing education credits to maintain knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy.
Basic Qualifications
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
At least six months experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Strong math skills for accurate prescription fulfillment.
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
