Position Overview The
Category Analyst
provides in-depth analysis to determine category strategy and opportunities. The successful candidate assists the category management team in the development and execution of category and brand growth stories, category reviews, shelving and modular plans, and provides market insights through the collection of relevant local and global market trends and shopper research techniques. This role supports the Category Manager II in all functions of the category management process.
Responsibilities
Provide detailed category and brand insight in a succinct and accurate story format.
Regular and accurate business performance reporting.
Assist with development and implementation of assortment, merchandising, and pricing recommendations for various accounts.
Create a narrative by transforming data points into compelling visuals.
Provide analytic and administrative support (business reviews, database management, monthly reporting).
Provide market insights through collection of relevant local and global market trends and shopper research techniques.
Engage directly with internal and external sales teams on category presentations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a Sales, Marketing, or Analyst role.
Demonstrated skills in projects and analytic analysis, including brand insight and category planogram design.
Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Self‑motivated with excellent communication, organization, and professional presentation skills.
Interest and ability to relocate as necessary.
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, with the ability to analyze and communicate insights to both internal and external audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a CPG environment.
Direct customer experience.
Internship experience.
Experience with data sources such as POS, retailer‑specific data, panel data, and other consumer‑based data providers.

Salary Base Salary: $63,250 – $110,680. Compensation is determined based on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. Eligible for McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB), Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB), and Dividend Program. Permanent employees also receive comprehensive Total Rewards programs.
