Senior Consultant | Building a Sustainable Future | Piper Maddox Regulatory Manager

Overview A growing clean energy and sustainability-focused organization is seeking a Regulatory Manager to serve as a subject matter expert across key renewable fuel and carbon regulatory programs. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effective implementation, management, and ongoing compliance with evolving federal, state, and international regulatory frameworks.

The Regulatory Manager will support senior compliance leadership while also engaging externally with customers, vendors, and third-party verifiers impacted by regulatory programs. The role includes exposure to international compliance initiatives and emerging global carbon markets.

International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC)

Canada Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR)

Bonus experience Voluntary carbon credits, solar, RECs, and CCS

Responsibilities

Program Implementation:

Lead and support the rollout of newly regulated programs and initiatives for the compliance team

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with commercial, scheduling, risk, and technology teams to ensure seamless regulatory implementation and adherence

Regulatory Leadership:

Monitor regulatory developments, interpret impacts, and proactively communicate changes to internal stakeholders

Training & Support:

Educate staff on regulatory requirements and internal procedures; provide ongoing guidance and day-to-day regulatory support

Compliance Oversight:

Maintain and enhance SOPs, monitoring plans, and recordkeeping systems; support reporting, verification, and attestations to regulatory agencies and third-party auditors

Strategic Contribution:

Contribute to compliance strategy, process improvements, and long-term regulatory planning

Stakeholder Communication:

Maintain regular communication with internal teams and external partners to support operational and regulatory needs

International Program Management:

Oversee operational verification and reporting for international regulatory programs (e.g., ISCC, Canada CFR)

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, policy, business administration, or a related field

5+ years of experience in energy, renewable fuels, or regulatory compliance

Prior experience with renewable fuel programs, energy markets, or agriculture-based carbon credit programs

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (RightAngle experience strongly preferred)

Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities

Professional demeanor with a customer-service mindset

Effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Skills

Experience with RightAngle and/or Solarc

Familiarity with EPA Renewable Fuel Standard and low-carbon fuel programs

Hybrid work schedule (in‑office midweek, remote at the beginning and end of the week)

Occasional travel to industry conferences or meetings as needed
