Responsibilities

Manage Food Lion To Go operations, including hiring, training, and developing associates.

Supervise department associates, providing ongoing performance management, training, and formal performance appraisals.

Maintain effective work schedules to meet online orders traffic, assigning activities during idle time.

Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.

Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.

Partner with department managers to ensure fresh orders, particularly out-of-stock items, are handled properly.

Ensure prompt, orderly handling of return-to-stock items, giving priority to refrigerated and perishable items.

Model outstanding customer service, using product knowledge to offer solutions that exceed expectations.

Control store expenses through proper ordering and care of supplies and equipment.

Use company tools, such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and inventory systems.

Maintain department appearance, quality, variety, workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation.

Apply comprehensive understanding of scheduling, sales, projections, wage percent, interviewing, hiring, training, and company information necessary to manage Food Lion To Go operations.

Identify and correct unsafe conditions; record and report accidents in accordance with Food Lion procedures.

Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.

Maintain security standards and complete required training courses such as CBT, Training Packet and Training Aid.

Provide recognition for accomplishments and constructive counseling to achieve customer satisfaction and build sales.

Support Front End operations as needed, including greeting customers, offering assistance, retrieving carts, reporting equipment malfunctions, and performing other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Stand 100% of the time with occasional walking short distances.

Push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion and up to 2000 pounds using a pallet jack or float.

Perform repetitive hand and arm motions.

Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.

Handle cleaning, packaging materials and household cleaners.

Reach and grasp at waist level, occasionally above shoulder or below waist level.

Meet established volume activity standards.

Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures up to 20 minutes at a time, including inclement weather.

Have sufficient visual ability to check invoices, dates, and other written documents.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Ability to lead and manage a team.

Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.

Ability to use technical information to solve problems.

Minimum age requirements for specific job functions.

Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar as a “Certified Food Safety Manager,” or willing to attend training and achieve accreditation within 90 days; maintain accreditation while employed.

Preferred Requirements

Ability to use computers and other communication systems required for job functions.

Proficiency with handheld computers for orders, markdowns, scan outs, and inventory.
