Itron is seeking a Quality Manager for our West Union, SC facility. This position will report to the Senior Quality Manager and work with factory quality managers and the global quality organization to ensure effectiveness of the quality management system. The role is also responsible for overseeing customer complaints, coordinating internal and external audits, managing calibration and supporting supplier quality and quality improvement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide leadership in quality-related initiatives, processes and activities.
Manage a team of 6-12 associates
Oversee compliance and continuous improvement of the ISO9001-based quality management system. This includes coordinating the implementation of new & revised global QMS processes, developing and improving local QMS processes and providing related training.
Manage the local internal audit program and provide coordination and support for 3rd party quality audits and customer audits.
Coordinate timely responses to customer quality issues, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and issuance of formal reports.
Support global supplier quality organization and manage site-specific supplier quality initiatives.
Oversee and improve the process for controlling nonconforming materials, driving reduction in MRB inventory as well as efficiency and effectiveness of the MRB process.
Manage the local calibration program.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor degree in engineering or related technical field
5 years of relevant experience in quality management
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including
ISO9001
QMS auditing
Control and improvement of QMS processes & documentation
Experience addressing customer complaints and requests as well as measuring and driving customer satisfaction
Excellent communication, organization & leadership skills
Experience working directly with suppliers, including supplier qualification, performing quality audits and addressing supplier quality issues
Good understanding of 8D problem solving methodology
Knowledge and experience with measurement systems, including Gage R&R, calibration standards and methodology and maintaining calibration records
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with Oracle and/or other ERP systems
Experience with SQL and Power BI
ISO9001 auditor certification or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor
ASQ Certified Manager of Quality & Organizational Excellence
Travel 0-10%
