This is a temporary position for approximately 12 weeks. The Mortgage Servicing Specialist supports the servicing of mortgage loans throughout various duties and the support of products which include conventional, high balance, jumbo, FNMA, second mortgages. The role is expected to deliver a high level of quality service to our membership. Applicants must be familiar with routine and complex mortgage loan servicing transactions, conduct loan account information research, loan adjustments, insurance monitoring, and annual escrow analysis review.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform system file maintenance and payment adjustments
Process and submit wire for daily mortgage payments to third party sub‑servicer
Work closely with third party sub‑servicing vendor to resolve member issues
Prepare payoff demand requests and process final payoff transactions
Assist with processing reconveyances and cancellation of tax service on Home Equity and Home Equity Line of Credit Loans paid in full
Monitor flood and hazard insurance for equity loans
Review and process insurance loss claims for Mortgage loans
Process member payments including checks, account transfers and ACH exceptions
Process PMI waiver requests
Set‑up and process monthly automatic mortgage payments
Respond to mortgage inquiries from internal/external members via email, internet, phone or correspondence
Monitor and track member inquiries with third party sub‑servicer and escalates if necessary
Provide support to the team where assistance is needed, act as a backup for various mortgage loan servicing functions
Maintain high quality service and production standards as set by the organization
Keep abreast of policies and procedures and real estate loan servicing compliance
Review daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and take appropriate action as outlined in procedures
GL Daily balancing of payment distribution account.
Review and process Recast requests
Review and submit credit reporting corrections if needed
Supplemental Tax payment research
Process and review Loss Draft Insurance requests
Participate in compliance training as required
Adhere to credit union policy and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree or three years related financial institution or credit union experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in mortgage lending operations and regulations.
Knowledge of Word and Excel.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks through effective time management and organizational skills.
Self‑motivated and ability to adapt quickly to changes and perform in a fast‑paced environment.
The ability to build effective relationships as needed to effectively address issues and obstacles.
Working knowledge of the Fidelity servicing system and Jack Henry/Symitar.
Must be detail oriented.
The pay range for this position is listed above. Our pay ranges are designed to allow for candidates with various levels of experience and skill to be considered, and to allow room for growth to be achieved in a role over time. Generally, new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their individual combination of experience, knowledge, skills, and education as well as internal equity.
