Overview QA Analyst– Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) & Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI)
Position Summary The QA Analyst for Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) and Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Software Deployment is responsible for executing detailed, requirements-based testing to validate that CAC/CDI systems function as designed and meet documented business, clinical, and compliance requirements. This role focuses on hands‑on testing, defect identification, and validation of workflows that directly impact coding accuracy, documentation integrity, and revenue cycle outcomes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically strong, and comfortable working at the intersection of clinical documentation, coding, and health IT systems.
Key Responsibilities Test Case Development & Execution
As governed by the Comprehensive Testing Plan, develop detailed test cases, test scripts, and acceptance criteria aligned to documented requirements.
Execute test cases across multiple testing phases, including integration testing, UAT, and regression testing.
Validate system behavior across inpatient, outpatient, and professional coding workflows.
Document test results clearly and consistently.
Requirements-Based Testing
Partner with Business Analysts and Business Stakeholders to validate that system functionality aligns with business and functional requirements documents, within the context of planned future-state workflows.
Execute end-to-end workflow testing, including positive, negative, exceptions, and edge cases.
Validate interface data flows and downstream impacts to billing and reporting.
Contribute to planning, coordination, and execution of:
Unit testing (vendor / IT)
Integrated testing
Interface testing
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Regression testing
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or related field.
3+ years of healthcare QA, testing, or validation experience, including health IT implementations.
Working knowledge of:
CAC and CDI workflows
ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS coding
Hospital and professional revenue cycle operations in complex healthcare environments
Preferred Qualifications
QA, testing, or quality certifications (ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA).
HIM or revenue cycle credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, CDIP, CRC).
Experience with CAC/CDI platforms and major EHR systems.
Experience supporting regulated environments with strong audit requirements.
