Job Description In this position…The dedicated truckload buyer will work to develop and source truckload transportation for our Ford of Mexico Plants. This role works cross‑functionally with Materials Planning and Logistics Team and with our Regional Transportation Managers at each Plant to ensure that our truckload carriers continue to deliver cost, quality and on‑time deliveries.
Responsibilities
Manage the inbound truckload services for parts shipments to support the Mexican Plants and carrier base in Mexico
Manage competitiveness and network optimization through Blue Yonder procurement
Develop purchasing POV on sourcing actions to improve Transportation network for inbound parts.
Use of negotiation and sourcing tools such as GDIA to develop sourcing recommendations and develop leverage and help drive waste from network
Identification and development of new truckload carriers
Leverage data analytics to support sourcing decisions
Understand industry trends and associated data analytical trends.
Lead strategic work such as Business Unit Reviews, Commodity Strategy updates, etc.
Lead for management of Supplier relationships
Champion Minority development and opportunities
Ability to work cross‑functionally with Ford’s Lead Logistics Provide and North American Logistics team.
Understand the Network design and complications, and help source to maximize the efficiency within the Network
Qualifications You’ll have…
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering)
Positive, Can-Do attitude when faced with demanding customer expectations. Team approach with fellow Buyers and MP&L/Plant Materials
Able to maintain focus and operate under pressure in fast paced environment
Able to develop, leverage cross-functional network
Ability to develop and communicate strategic and analytical viewpoints to purchasing leadership, carrier base, and internal customers.
Ability to find leverage with a market driven commodity to help achieve optimal cost and service
Highly organized, analytical, and a strategic thinker to support the required pace
Strong leadership skills
Strong excel skillset; pivot tables; data analytics

Experience in Blue Yonder a plus
Experience in Smartsheet and dashboard analytics a plus
Logistics degree and experience a plus
Bilingual – Spanish speaking/written language skills a bonus
