Insurance Verification & Explanation of Benefits Specialist Schedule: Monday - Friday

Pay Range: $17 - $21 per hour (DOE)

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 1 year of experience in insurance verification or medical billing (preferred)

Knowledge of insurance plans, EOBs, and prior authorization processes

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office

Job Responsibilities

Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments

Obtain and document prior authorizations as required by insurance carriers

Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements

Communicate coverage details, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs to patients

Resolve insurance discrepancies and follow up on denied claims

Maintain accurate records in the practice management system

Collaborate with billing team and clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow

Handle patient inquiries regarding insurance and billing in a professional manner

Stay updated on insurance guidelines and compliance requirements
