Location We welcome candidates located anywhere in Kansas or Missouri. Our Kansas Division has six offices: Kansas City, KS; Topeka, KS; Wichita, KS; Manhattan, KS; Lenexa, KS; and Kansas City, MO. This position allows a hybrid work schedule, with employees working from a nearby office when feasible. Remote arrangements are considered for candidates not located near one of our offices.

The Impact You Will Have

Serve as project manager on bridge and transportation design projects.

Create and execute project work plans, including developing scope, schedule and budget estimates.

Manage project teams, accountable for budget and schedule.

Mentor junior staff.

Contribute to Kansas Division strategic growth initiatives.

Champion relationships with key clients, including KDOT and/or MoDOT.

Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events.

Identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits.

Delegate staff duties and responsibilities effectively.

Serve as the primary interface between clients and staff for a given project.

Coordinate, monitor, and review work performed by sub‑consultants.

Promote team communication and address conflicts.

Network and lead professional organizations.

What You Will Need

BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Registered Engineer in Kansas and/or Missouri.

Minimum of 7+ years bridge design experience, including project management responsibility preferred.

Proven experience on KDOT or MoDOT bridge projects preferred.

Seller/Doer mentality; client interaction experience a plus.

Track record of adhering to design budgets and project schedules.

Excellent communication and client‑relation skills.

Strong understanding of steel/concrete design software.

Experience with bridge inspection; completed NHI training a plus.

Excellent time‑management skills, working efficiently under multiple concurrent activities.

Willingness to travel to project/work sites as necessary.
